About Us

Pet Parents’ Place, LLC (P3) is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to connecting the current parents of adopted or rescued pets with the previous owners.

P3 owners, Connie Dunkerson and her late husband Frank created this project after years of adopting ‘beyond puppy’ dogs and wondering how such sweet, loving pets could’ve ended up looking for a new home. The couple wanted to know the story behind many of their pets and thought perhaps the loving previous owners would like to know that their pets were alive and doing well.

Shiloh’s Story

Shiloh was a rescue from a high-kill shelter in North Carolina. We adopted her in May of 2011 from a local rescue group when she was about eight months old.

Shiloh was a rescue from a high-kill shelter in North Carolina. We adopted her in May of 2011 from a local rescue group when she was about eight months old. She’d been spayed and had her shots, and for whatever reason, her long coat was full of finishing nails. Our hypothesis about that was that while she was on the lam she found shelter in a new home or something that was being built. To satisfy our curiosity and find out if she had a breed in her that might have medical issues to watch out for, we had her DNA done and her major breeds are Golden Retriever, Border Collie and yes, Lhasa Apso.
